GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Preble High School teacher Joee Demerath has been placed on administrative leave while allegations he inappropriately messaged a former student are investigated, the district said Friday.
“The Green Bay Area Public School District has been made aware of social media posts that allege that Preble teacher Joee Demerath inappropriately messaged a former Preble student,” the district said.
“At this time this is an ongoing investigation and personnel matter, so we are unable to comment further. If your student needs additional emotional support, they should reach out to Preble Student Services staff,” the district said.
The district said it and Green Bay police are investigating.
A Green Bay police spokesperson said the department was made aware of the allegation on Wednesday, and no arrests have been made.
