(WNFL) – Taking a look at area leaders in high school football after 5 weeks, Notre Dame’s Kingston Allen has scored 26 touchdowns and rushed for 1,406 yards.
He is easily the leader in both those categories according to Boundwisconsin.com.
Allen, for those wondering, averages 12.4 yards per carry.
Freedom’s Axzil Eggert and Sevastopol’s Bo Tanck are tied for second in touchdowns scored with 18.
Eggert is second in rushing yards with 752. Luxemburg-Casco’s Eli Dereene is third with 729 and an average of 11 yards per carry.
West De Pere’s Andrew Greisen and Tanck both had 13 passing touchdowns to share the lead in that category. Freedom’s Owen Henkel has 12.
Green Bay Preble’s Harrison Selk has thrown for 1,263 yards with Hortonville’s AJ Pheifer second at 1,149 and Greisen third and 1,146.
In receiving yards, Sevastopol’s Cash Kuehn, Bay Port’s Jackson Otradovec and Green Bay Preble’s Tyler Cleven are first through third in receiving yards with 517, 446 and 420 yards, respectively.
Defensively, Appleton East’s Maks Chevalier has 70 tackles with Ethan Werner of Luxemburg-Casco next at 69.
Mason Colvin has 5 interceptions while Fox Valley Lutheran’s Josiah Schaefer has 8 sacks. Lane Ledvina of Luxemburg-Casco has 7.
Run like the wind: In cross country, Bloomer’s Ciara Hartman has the fastest time in Wisconsin to date with a time of 17:19.1 that she turned in at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.
Neenah’s Sam Zilm is second with a time of 17:31.6 (Nightfall Classic 920) and Appleton North’s Eva Busch is eighth with a time of 18:17.4 (SPASH Panther Invitational). Arya Shefchik of Green Bay Preble is 11th with a time of 18:23.7.
Among the boys, Hudson’s Ryan Keller has the best time at 15:00.4 which he ran at the Roy Griak Invitational. Zachary Natzke of West De Pere has the 26th best time among boys with a time of 16:07.2 that recorded at the Smiley Invitational.
Volleyball poll: Heading into this week’s play, Kimberly and Neenah are ranked third and sixth, respectively, in the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association poll in Division 1. Divine Savior Holy Angels is ranked No. 1
In Division 2, Mosinee is ranked No. 1 with Fox Valley Lutheran, Xavier, Luxemburg-Casc0 and Oconto Falls ranked third, fifth, seventh and ninth, respectively.
Watertown Luther Prep is the top team in Division 3 with Brillion and St. Mary Catholic checking in at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
Webster is the top team in Division 4 with Shiocton ranked seventh.
In Division 5, Florence is ranked No. 1 with NEW Lutheran in the ninth spot.
Going golfing: The Bay Port Pirates are the top-ranked area golf team, according to the new Wisconsin Golf Coaches Association poll.
Kaukauna is tied for ninth in Division 1.
In Division 2, Seymour is ranked third and Wrightstown checks in at No. 8
