(LEARFIELD/PACKERS) – Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd says he’s ready for whatever role comes his way as Green Bay opens the season.
With Josh Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list, Lloyd is expected to take on a much larger workload despite having just six career carries in the NFL.
The third-year back has battled injuries throughout his first two seasons, but General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Lloyd is “as ready as he’s ever been.”
Lloyd says he’s confident in his abilities and prepared to handle as many touches as the Packers need.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a simple message to Lloyd.
Love also talked about whether or not Jacobs’ absence will affect the Packers offense.
Campbell gets a roster spot: No one may have been more happy when the Packers announced their 53-man roster than Anthony Campbell.
The 6′ 6″ defensive tackle said that it was tough waiting for his fate on final cutdown.

Prepping for the Vikings already:
It may not be until a week from Sunday that the Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings but don’t think the team isn’t already getting ready for them.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said that Packers are using the weekend to work ahead.
He said that this free weekend allows them to plan ahead.
LaFleur talked about getting three new guys, Kaleb Johnson, Jonnu Smith and Mark Redmen up to speed.
Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers have signed long snapper Scott Daly and kicker Lenny Krieg to the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Wednesday.
Daly (6-2, 248) is a sixth-year player out of the University of Notre Dame who originally signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on April 16, 2018, but was released after training camp. He went on to spend time in the Alliance of American Football (2019) and the XFL (2020) before signing with the Detroit Lions on May 4, 2021. Daly played in 42 games for the Lions from 2021-23. Over the past two seasons (2024-25), he appeared in 34 regular-season games and two postseason contests for the Chicago Bears. Daly spent this past offseason and training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will wear No. 46 for the Packers.
Krieg (6-1, 210), who is from Berlin, Germany, rejoins the Packers after a short stint with Green Bay at the start of training camp. He joins the Packers’ practice squad as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program. Krieg originally signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on March 28, 2025, and spent last season on the Falcons’ practice squad as part of the league’s IPP. He signed with the New York Jets this past offseason but was released on June 1. Krieg appeared in 24 games for the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football (ELF) over two seasons (2023-24), going 19 for 26 (73.1 pct.) on field-goal attempts, with a career long of 52 yards. Additionally, he converted 101 of 126 extra-point attempts (80.2 pct.). Krieg also appeared in four playoff games for the Surge, going 2 for 3 on field-goal attempts (66.7 pct.) and 8 for 15 on extra-point attempts (53.3 pct.). He will wear No. 38 for the Packers.
