PC: Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department
MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person suffered minor injuries in a house fire in Manitowoc.
The Manitowoc Fire Department says it received a call about fire with smoke and flames from a southside home early Sunday evening.
When crews arrived, a resident reported that a dog was trapped on the second floor.
Firefighters went inside and were able to rescue the dog.
Additional pets were also rescued from the home.
One of the residents was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Fire crews say a quick call to 911 and evacuated residents helped firefighters find the best way to get to the trapped pets.
Two Rivers Dire and Newton Fire assisted in the call.
