Its emergency shelter services officially opened Sunday, and will be available through the end of April. The organization reports that while the number of individuals it’s sheltering overall has gone down, the number of people per night has risen. St. John’s say they’ve hired a lot of seasonal staff, but still need some volunteer help. Potential roles for volunteers would include hospitality, preparing and serving meals, doing laundry, and sorting supplies.
