GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said earlier this week that running back Josh Jacobs would practice this week leading up to Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
The media was not allowed to film during Wednesday’s walkthrough. LaFleur was asked if two practices will be enough for Jacobs to play on Sunday.
“Yeah we’ll see, we’ll work through it.”
LaFleur was asked later on how does the team balance being excited getting Jacobs back in practice but understanding the seriousness of Jacobs’ criminal conviction for an altercation with his girlfriend and the outside noise.
“I think a lot of times you get in a situation where you may not make the right decision and I think people learn from their mistakes and I think he’s extremely remorseful and I do believe that he is a good person. I’ve been around him quite a bit and I believe in second chances,” LaFleur said.
LaFleur was asked about how does the offense change once Jacobs comes back.
“I think we’ll have a plan in place whether or not he can go and we’ll adjust from there but I think it changes some a little bit in regards to you have a dynamic back you want to get the ball to and let him go to work,” he said.
Kick-off is set for 3:25 p.m. from Ford Field.
