TOWN OF NEWTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 25-year-old Manitowoc man was killed in a crash Sunday in Manitowoc County.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., a deputy with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s office came across a single-vehicle crash that had recently happened at the intersection of State Highway 42 and County Road C in the Town of Newton.
A preliminary investigation shows a 2006 Chevy Malibu was headed east on County Road C when it went off the road and into the ditch.
The vehicle then overturned and came to a rest in the intersection.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was ejected.
Despite lifesaving efforts from first responders, the man died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Newton Fire Department and Newton First Responders, Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office, Manitowoc County Dispatch Center, Manitowoc County Highway Department, Manitowoc Fire and Rescue, and Hi-Way 42 Garage & Towing assisted in the response and investigation.
