MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) — The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a winning start in the National League Championship Series, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-to-1 in Game One Sunday night. Brice Turang homered off Detroit ace Tarik Skubal, and rookie Luis Lara delivered the go-ahead single in the fifth inning. Milwaukee’s bullpen then held the Dodgers to just two hits over the final innings.
The Dodgers had several chances but struggled to capitalize, grounding into three double plays and leaving nine runners on base. Milwaukee’s Jacob Misiorowski was chased in the fifth inning, but four relievers shut down Los Angeles to preserve the win. The victory also snaps the Brewers’ seven-game postseason losing streak against the Dodgers.
Game Two is Monday in Milwaukee. Yoshinobu Yamamoto starts for Los Angeles, while Logan Henderson takes the mound for the Brewers.
