OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 45-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested after police say he threatened a person and three children with a gun Friday night.
Oshkosh police were called around 10:20 p.m. to a home in the 1800 block of North Main Street for a disturbance involving a weapon.
Police say the man, who knew the victim, threatened to kill the victim and pointed a firearm at them. The victim ran from the home.
Officers learned three juveniles were still inside. Police say the man had also threatened to kill the children and any responding officers.
The Oshkosh Police Department’s SWAT team, crisis negotiators and drone team responded, along with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
Police say negotiators convinced the man to surrender. He was taken into custody without anyone being hurt.
The man was booked into jail on preliminary charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and strangulation. Police say a search of the home led to the seizure of four guns and ammunition.
