I wanted to try something a little different, so I tried a version of a shrimp boil.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 1 lb of shrimp
- 1 lb smoked sausage
- 1 lemon
- 1 orange
- Handful of chopped parsley
- Small yukon potatoes
- Cobs of corn
- 1/4 cup of BBQ rub
- 4 sticks of butter
Start by cleaning and deveining the shrimp. Then slice up the sausage into 1/4 inch slices.

Add the shrimp, sausage, parsley, and the juice of the orange and lemon into a foil pan, and toss with the rub. Put it in the fridge and let it marinate for at least two hours.
When you are ready to cook, preheat your smoker to 230 degrees. Add the corn and the potatoes. Melt the butter and add it to the pan. Smoke everything uncovered for about 30 minutes, then check the shrimp. Cover the pan with foil and go back in for another 20-30 minutes and everything should be done. Serve immediately.

** My potatoes did not cook all the way through, so when I do it next time, I think I’ll either boil ’em or microwave them for a bit to make sure they cook.

It was citrusy, buttery, and delicious. Definitely worth a try.
