(LEARFIELD/GREEN BAY PACKERS) – The Packers’ front office was already preparing for the absence of veteran running back Josh Jacobs before he was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list last week.
He still could face an extended suspension connected to the domestic abuse misdemeanor charges filed against him.
Jacobs has a scheduled court appearance in November but the NFL doesn’t have to wait for the legal process to be completed before it takes action.
Marshawn Lloyd is expected to get the first chance to fill the vacancy while Jacobs is out.
The practice squad roster: The Green Bay Packers have signed the following players to the practice squad: tackle Dalton Cooper, defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy, tight end Drake Dabney, guard Josh Gesky, wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr., cornerback Domani Jackson, edge Nyjalik Kelly, safety Murvin Kenion III, edge Arron Mosby, wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, running back Pierre Strong Jr., guard Dillon Wade and linebacker Kristian Welch.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Monday.
All 13 players signed to the practice squad spent time with the Packers during the 2026 preseason.
