(LEARFIELD) – Two innings with five runs crossing the plate, then a nine-run ninth powered the Milwaukee Brewers to a record-setting 22-0 win over the Seattle Mariners at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
That’s the most runs scored in franchise history and the most runs scored by the winning team in a shutout victory in Major League Baseball history.
Milwaukee got home runs from Jake Bauers, Christian Yelich, Luis Lara, and David Hamilton.
Yelich talked about the team putting up 22 runs.
Yelich said the team had good at-bats.
Yelich, Lara, and Hamilton each drove in four runs and starter Kyle Harrison got the pitching win with five scoreless innings.
The Brewers moved 30 games over .500 with the win but Pat Murphy cautioned that last night was just 1 game.
Murphy did talk about the big night.
He said that that is how the Brewers play.
Dustin May pitches for the Brewers tonight. May is 6-7 with a 4.13 ERA.
Seattle will send Logan Gilbert who is 9-7 with a 3.28 ERA to the mound.
