PDP offers a backstage look at cutting-edge dairies, innovative agricultural partners
DAIRY NEWS – Idaho has established itself as a global leader in milk production, dairy processing, crop integration and ag technology. An upcoming tour presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP) in partnership with Progressive Publishing will give dairy producers access to select farms and businesses that are driving the potato state’s transformative success.
Registration is now open for the October 19-23 tour, with space limited to the first 45 active dairy producers who reserve their spots. The tour includes four nights of lodging, a welcome reception, nine meals, tour transportation and all training materials. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Boise, Idaho.
Once in Idaho, the itinerary includes tours of:
- Five leading dairies: Idaho Jersey Girls Dairy, Riverbend Dairy, Skyline Dairy, TLK Dairy and Si-Ellen Dairy
- Progressive Publishing
- Amalgamated Sugar Company
- Driscoll Brothers agricultural products
- Perrine Bridge and Shoshone Falls
“We’re excited to explore some of the largest and most innovative dairy operations in our country,” said JJ Pagel, dairy producer at Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy, Kewaunee, Wis., and PDP vice president. “These tours will give PDP members the chance to learn directly from the dairy owners and managers who are leading the way in employee engagement, milk quality, cow comfort and operational efficiency.”

This program involves a considerable amount of walking, stairs, long periods of standing and outdoor activities. Expect to walk approximately 5 miles over the course of a day. This is not a trip recommended for guests with mobility difficulties.
