OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Rodney Franklin was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison with no chance of parole for the murder of Keith Rieskamp.
A jury convicted Frankin, 54, of first-degree intentional homicide and theft from a corpse for the Nov. 24, 2024, murder.
While the life sentence was mandatory, Judge Scott Woldt had the option of if to set a date when Franklin could first ask for parole, but did not make Franklin eligible for extended supervision.
Franklin was also sentenced to five years in prison for the theft from a corpse count, but that will be served at the same time as the murder sentence, court records show.
According to testimony, Rieskamp was found dead Nov. 24, 2024, behind a residence in the 200 block of East Doty Avenue in Neenah. Investigators testified a brick recovered near the scene contained DNA from both Franklin and Rieskamp. Witnesses also told police the two men had argued before Rieskamp’s death.
Rieskamp had previously lived with Franklin at the East Doty Avenue home before later staying in a shed on the property, according to investigators.
