(LEARFIELD/WNFL) – Arizona starter Eduardo Rodriguez had been dominating for six innings when Jake Bauers smacked a two-run home run.
That blast put the Brewers up to stay in Sunday’s 3-2 victory on the road.
Leading 2-1 after Bauers’ home run, Joey Ortiz drove in the winning run with a single that scored Gary Sanchez.
Lefty Drew Rom got the victory in relief by striking out the only batter he faced.
Brandon Sproat started for the Brewers and made it through 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 4.
He was followed by Garrett Anderson, Rom, Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill
Milwaukee took the series two games to one.
Shane Drohan (3-2, 3.12 ERA) gets the start Monday night in the first game of a five-game series in St. Louis.
St. Louis will counter with D May who is 5-6 with a 4.80 ERA.
