(WNFL/LEARFIELD) – It was a rough night for the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night as they lost 6-0 to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pittsburgh starting pitcher Paul Skenes was perfect through 6 innings, allowing no walks and no hits. Skenes did give up a hit to Jake Bauers in the seventh inning and finished with 7 strikeouts.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Skenes was outstanding.
Murphy talked about Skenes’ command.
And talked about his team facing good pitcher.
Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell said it was a night where nothing went the Brewers’ way.
The Pirates, meanwhile, scored 3 runs off of Brandon Woodruff in 5 innings and then tacked on 3 more against reliever Shane Drohan.
The Pirates’ Konnor Griffin hit his first major league home run in the third inning off Woodruff.
The Pirates and Brewers play again tonight.
Jacob Misiorowski will start for the Brewers while Pittsburgh will counter with Mitch Keller.
