MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A missing man’s body was found at the bottom of Lake Michigan Monday.
Police say they were called to the area of the lighthouse on the lake around 1:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of a 20-year-old man who may have disappeared into the lake.
With the help of the U.S. Coast Guard, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and Manitowoc Fire Department, crews searched the area.
The sheriff’s office’s dive team found the body just before 12:30 p.m.
Police say their preliminary investigation has turned up no sign of foul play and no threat to the community.
