Marquette fell 15-13 at Jacksonville on Sunday despite a career‑tying four goals from Sarah Beth Burns and six points from Dani Serrano. MU used a six‑goal run to build a first‑half lead, but the Dolphins closed strong to reclaim control. Since guiding MU into its inaugural 2013 season, Black has taken the team from start‑up status to national relevance, highlighted by a program‑record 15–4 season and NCAA Tournament berth in 2023, followed by another 10‑win campaign in 2025. A victory at Youngstown State would add another landmark to Black’s transformational tenure.
SUSTAINED OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION
Marquette continues to establish itself as one of the nation’s most efficient scoring teams, averaging 15.33 goals per game on 92 total goals through six contests, a mark that ranks No. 12 nationally and reflects a balanced attack that converts at a 53.5 percent shooting clip. The Golden Eagles have hit double figures in every outing, carrying a scoring margin of +8 to this point in the season.

MU’s free‑position unit has emerged as one of the team’s most reliable scoring mechanisms.
