Jason Reeves (Brown Co. Jail)
(WTAQ-WLUK) — A former Omro alderman has been convicted in a federal child pornography case.
Jason Reeves, 44, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of receipt of child pornography, according to officials.
His sentencing is set for Feb. 20. Reeves faces a mandatory five-year prison sentence and up to 20 years behind bars. He may also be fined up to $250,000 and will be required to register as a sex offender.
The investigation into Reeves began when a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was sent to the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Based on the IP address associated with the tip, it was then forwarded to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Reeves sent a video file of a naked girl, believed to be between 7-10 years old, to another person through a chat message.
In April 2025, a search warrant was executed at Reeves’ home and various electronic devices were seized. That resulted in the recovery of child pornography.
