OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One person is dead and a child is hurt after a car drove into a ditch on USH 141 in the Town of Stiles Saturday evening.
Officials with the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office say A 24-year-old woman from Wausaukee was traveling with a 1-year-old child when the car, for unknown reasons, left the roadway, driving into the east ditch, south of Stiles Road.
After hitting the ditch, officials say the car was launched over the road and rolled multiple times before coming to rest in a yard adjacent to the highway.
The driver of the car died on the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. The 1-year-old was immediately transported to a hospital in Green Bay.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
