MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A suspect in a gas station robbery in Manitowoc was arrested Thursday in Green Bay.
According to the Manitowoc Police Department, officers were dispatched to the BP Gas Station, located at 2914 Calumet Avenue, at approximately 11:45 a.m. for a reported robbery.
Officials say the suspect did not display a weapon during the robbery but fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.
With the assistance of the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, crews began tracking the suspect’s movement with drones and K9 Rocky.
During this track, K9 Rocky led Officers to valuable evidence, which had been discarded by the suspect. K9 Rocky also led Officers to a nearby apartment complex. It was determined via surveillance video from private citizens the suspect had passed through this area and had been picked up in a vehicle.
Later, information was received that the robbery suspect had been seen in Green Bay. The United States Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Task Force assisted in locating and arresting the suspect without incident.
Officials say there is no danger to the public. The suspect is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on a probation hold and criminal charges will be filed.
