The offense has gone quiet for the Milwaukee Brewers on the road. After getting shutout by the Chicago Cubs in a series finale at Wrigley Field Sunday, the Brewers were held to just three hits in a 3-2 loss to the Royals in Kansas City Monday. With thunderstorms forecast, the start time was moved up one hour in Missouri. Gary Sanchez put Milwaukee in front with a two run homer in the top of the 4th inning. Starter Bryse Wilson did his job, working through six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while walking three with six strikeouts. Wilson gave way to Jared Koenig in the 7th and that’s when the Royals got busy. Michael Massey greeted him with a solo home run and after more traffic got on base, Maikel Garcia delivered the go-ahead, two run single. The Kansas City bullpen finished it off from there. The Brewers are now 20-14 and despite the three game slide, remain percentage points ahead of the Cubs in the NL Central race. Colin Rea (3-0) will get the start Tuesday night against Seth Lugo (5-1, 1.60 ERA) in game two of the series. Pre-game coverage gets underway at 6:05 PM with a 6:40 PM first pitch on WTAQ.
