WASHINGTON, DC (WSAU) — Ground beef sold at grocery stores in Michigan and Wisconsin is being recalled because it could be contaminated with pieces of plastic.
According to the USDA’s Food Inspection and Safety Service, the beef was produced and sold on March 10th at stores in both states, namely Meijer locations. The department has received at least two complaints of hard, green plastic in the beef.
While the product was only sold on one day, the recall is being issued because some consumers may still have the meat in their freezers. Shoppers are asked to check their freezers and either throw out the meat or bring it back to the store for a refund or exchange.
