BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two families are out of their Bellevue apartment units after a vehicle crashed into their building.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Department says at 6:34 Saturday night a deputy saw a 2010 Honda SUV swerve off Verlin Road and crash into a parked car in a parking lot. The car was pushed off to the side and the SUV continued driving into the building, causing structural damage.
Authorities say the heating system for the complex was temporarily knocked out of service.
Building management and the Red Cross are working on housing for the two displaced families.
Investigators believe a medical issue may have resulted in the 33-year-old Green Bay area woman to drive off the road and eventually into the building. She is being treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the crash.
