DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A state-of-the-art cultural center in De Pere is now open to the public.
After a few delays, the Mulva Cultural Center opened its doors Friday.
The $100 million building on the east side of the Fox River features a grand staircase, café, gift shop, classroom space, auditorium, and 10,000 square feet of exhibition space. The auditorium features a screen that is only the third of its type in the U.S. — the others being in Los Angeles and Houston,
The center is the dream of De Pere natives, Jim and Miriam Mulva, who envisioned it nine years ago.
De Pere, Green Bay and beyond which would be for future generations to enjoy and which would stimulate the intellectual curiosity of all ages,” Miriam Mulva said.
Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles!, along with And the Grammy Goes to… are the first two featured exhibits, running through Jan. 31.

Visitors can also check out the free atrium exhibit, Clyde Butcher’s America: A Lifetime of Photography, running through Feb. 28.
