(LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers continue preparing for Saturday’s night NFL Wild Card Weekend playoff game with the Chicago Bears.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about how wind and snow is in the forecast for Saturday night.
With quarterbacks Jordan Love and Malik Willis having recovered from injuires, LaFleur also talked about going with Desmond Ridder as the third quarterback.
As for the Bears, LaFleur said that Caleb Williams has grown and progressed this season. He can make all the plays.
One player the Packers will be without on Saturday is Bo Melton. LaFleur said that Melton is headed for I.R. after suffering knee injury against the Vikings.
LaFLeur did say that it’s not an ACL for Melton.
As for the defense which has not exactly been rock solid against the run, LaFleur discussed how Nazir Stackhouse fits into the run defense.
Rookie is ready: Packers rookie offensive lineman Anthony Belton will be starting in his first playoff game as a rookie.
Belton talked about the last two games against Bears and how they have come down to a final play.
Belton talked about the mood of the team, having lost four straight.
Belton was asked if he wanted a third shot at the Bears.
Belton talked about his approach to his first NFL playoff game.
He said that he doesn’t look at this as a sense of accomplishment.
Love’s ready: Packers quarterback Jordan Love discussed what his previous playoff experience has taught him.
Love said the team had a lot of momentum and beat Dallas in the playoffs but not so much the last two years, especially this year coming into the game with a 4-game losing streak. So is momentum a thing and if so, how do they get it back?
Love was asked if the rivalry being what it is, does it ramp up more, given it’s a playoff game Saturday night?
Odds: DraftKings have the Packers listed as 1.5 point favorites with an over/under of 44.5 points. Bet MGM has the Bears listed as a 1-point favorite with the over/under at 46. The Packers are 6-10 against the spread this season while the Bears are 10-6.
Weather forecast: Accuweather is forecasting a “feels like” temperature of 3 degrees with snow and wind from the west at 20 mph with gusts up to 33 mph.
