(LEAFIELD/PACKERS) – The Green Bay Packers travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings.
The Packers and Vikings finish the regular season against each other for the first time since 2015 and in Minnesota for the first time since 2012.
It is the first time since 2021 that Green Bay will finish the regular season on the road.
It will be the first time in five seasons that the two teams have not played in Week 17.
Green Bay leads the regular-season series, 66-59-3,while the two teams split the postseason, 1-1.
The Packers’ 66 regular-season wins over Minnesota are the most by any team against the Vikings.
Of the past 22 regular-season meetings in Minnesota between the teams, 15 have been decided by single digits.
The Packers have a 31-32 record in away games against the Vikings, including wins at Minnesota in three of the last six seasons.
The Packers’ three wins at U.S. Bank Stadium are the fourth most by an opponent in the stadium’s history (Chicago ranks No. 1 with five).
Green Bay has scored 30-plus points in three of the last five road games against Minnesota, including 33 in a win in 2023.
Since 2000, the Packers are 28-20-2 (.580) in regularseason contests versus the Vikings.
Green Bay’s seven wins over Minnesota since 2019 are the most in the NFL (Detroit ranks No. 2 with six wins).
The Packers won the first meeting this season, 23-6, in Week 12.
In 2024, both games were decided by two points. It was the first time in series history that Green Bay and Minnesota played in consecutive games decided by fewer than three points (STATS).
Of the past 46 regular-season meetings between the teams, 27 of those games have been decided by seven points or less.
It is the first time since 2020 that the Packers are not finishing the season with back-to-back division contests.
It is the fifth time in seven seasons under Head Coach Matt LaFleur that the Packers start and end the season with an NFC North game.
This will be the Packers’ sixth 12 p.m. CT kickoff this season and first since Week 13. Green Bay has won the last three games it has played at 12 p.m. CT
Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers claimed DL Jonathan Ford off waivers from the Chicago Bears, signed CB Shemar Bartholomew and CB Jaylin Simpson from the practice squad to the active roster, signed RB Damien Martinez to the practice squad, placed CB Kamal Hadden and DL Jordon Riley on injured reserve, and released DL Quinton Bohanna. The transactions were announced Tuesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Ford (6-5, 338), a third-year player, was originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (No. 234 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami (Fla.). He was on the Packers’ active roster and practice squad from 2022-24, but did not appear in a game. Ford was signed from Green Bay’s practice squad to the Bears’ active roster on Oct. 25, 2024, and went on to play in four games for Chicago that season, recording nine tackles (three solo) and a tackle for a loss. He played in eight games for the Bears this season, registering four tackles (all assists).
Martinez (6-0, 217), a rookie out of the University of Miami (Fla.), was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (No. 223 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft and spent the early part of the season on the Seahawks’ practice squad. In college, he played two seasons at Oregon State (2022-23), where he earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors both seasons and was selected to the 247Sports True Freshman All-America team in 2022. Martinez played for Miami in 2023, earning All-ACC honorable mention after posting the first 1,000-yard rushing season by a Hurricane running back since 2016.
