If you’re looking for a quick, easy, and fun way to grill up some dessert try this recipe!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 very firm bananas*
- 2 Tbsp coconut rum, like Malibu
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon
*my grocery store didn’t have any that weren’t already pretty ripe, so I used green ones – worked great!
In a small bowl, whisk together the rum, honey and cinnamon. Set aside.
Slice the bananas in half lengthwise, keeping the peels on.

Fire up the grill to medium heat. Place the banana halves cut side down and cook for about 3 minutes.

Then, flip them over and brush on the rum-honey glaze.

Cook for another 3 minutes or so. Mine were pretty firm, so I did 3 minutes, hit it again with the glaze, and did another minute more. Carefully remove the bananas, remove the peels, and serve immediately with ice cream.

These were very good! Had to eat them a little fast as the hot bananas were melting the ice cream, but refreshing, delicious and very quick and easy to make.
