KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — City officials are warning of the consequences of violating terms of use at the Kaukauna disposal site.
According to a Facebook post, Kaukauna has been experiencing “numerous violations” including the disposal of forbidden items like cabinets, furniture, building materials, metal objects and electronics.
Additionally, users are also overfilling the dumpsters, which poses a safety hazard for disposal site employees.
“If the lid doesn’t close, the dumpster is overfilled. Site users need to bring their refuse back home until the dumpsters are serviced or bring it to the Outagamie County Landfill,” the Facebook post says.
Piling items on the ground because they do not fit inside the dumpster is also a violation.
Officials are reminding all site users that the city will issue minimum fines of $150 for the first offense and $300 for the second offense and beyond.
Revocation of access to the disposal site may also be warranted at any time, at the judgement of the city, for any violations.
