(WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsinites can reel in prizes while enjoying fish fries across the Fox Valley.
Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting the Fox Cities Fish Fry Trail from March 5 through April 20.
Participants can download the mobile passport where you can check in at more than 60 listed establishments on the Fish Fry Trail.
Each check-in along the trail counts as an entry into a drawing for prizes and gift cards.
Friday fish fries have long been a time-honored tradition in Wisconsin, deeply rooted in state history, dating back to when Catholics of German and Polish descent first settled here in the 1800s.
Although every establishment’s platter varies, the staple is almost always deep-fried perch, walleye, haddock, cod, bluegill or smelt with some sort of potato side. Meals may often include coleslaw, a slice of rye bread and of course, tartar sauce.
