FOND DU LAC COUNTY (WTAQ-WLUK) — One man is in custody after a vehicle pursuit in Fond du Lac County resulted in the seizure of fentanyl.
According to a news release, the incident happened in late February. A sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign, but the driver increased the speed of their vehicle and fled.
Authorities initiated a pursuit and ultimately used tire deflation devices and a pursuit intervention technique (P.I.T) to disable the fleeing vehicle. A 43-year-old Waushara County man was arrested without further incident.
38 grams of fentanyl was recovered during a search of the vehicle.
Officials say the man is facing charges of felony eluding, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and second degree recklessly endangering safety. The sheriff’s office says the man “has a criminal history involving the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics dating all the way back to 2000.”
He is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
