OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A recent uptick in vehicle break-ins has the Oshkosh Police Department on alert.
While officers are “actively working” to identify and arrest the suspect(s) involved in the break-ins, police are urging residents to stay vigilant to ensure they don’t become the next victim.
Here are some preventative measures you can take to keep your vehicle safe:
- Take your keys; never leave them in your vehicle.
- Close all windows and lock all doors when you park.
- Never leave valuables in your vehicle.
- Park in a well-lit area.
- Promptly report any suspicious activity, and call 911 to report a theft or break-in.
