MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities apprehended a juvenile after an alleged threat against Roncalli Middle School.
The Manitowoc Police Department says it was made aware of the social media threat at approximately 6:10 a.m. Tuesday. Investigating officers identified the suspect and took a juvenile into custody.
The juvenile was charged with terroristic threats and placed in secure detention, according to a news release.
The Manitowoc Police Department wants to thank Roncalli Middle School for assistance in identifying the suspect and working collaboratively with this department to make sure students have a safe environment for learning.
We would like to also thank the multitude of parents and citizens who contacted this department with information about the incident.
The safety of our children is of the utmost importance to the Manitowoc Police Department. Any actions or threats against them will not be tolerated.
