TOWN OF KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man was allegedly overdosing on drugs when he burglarized an Outagamie County home and fled from police.
According to the sheriff’s office, it received a report at 5:15 p.m. of a robbery at an occupied home in the town of Kaukauna. The suspect fled the home on foot prior to the arrival of multiple law enforcement agencies.
Authorities conducted a coordinated search using drone technology and located the man in a field “a significant distance” from the home. He was apprehended and received emergency medical care for a suspected drug overdose.
It is believed the suspect, who was operating a stolen vehicle, fled from a number of attempted traffic stops just before the burglary.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
