Storage facility fire in Green Bay 2-13-2025 . PC: Fox 11 Online
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An early-morning blaze at a storage facility on Green Bay’s east side left half a dozen storage units with “heavy fire damage.”
Crews were called to the scene in the 1500 block of University Avenue at 3:45 a.m. Thursday. Officials say flames were showing through the roof of the storage facility, which has 18 stalls.
Limited access and cold temperatures created challenges for the firefighters, according to a news release, and additional support was brought in to combat the blaze.
The fire was extinguished and successfully contained to six of the building’s 18 units, but the impacted stalls suffered heavy fire damage.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department Fire Marshals Office.
