(LEARFIELD/247NEWSSOURCE) DETROIT – The Detroit Lions extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 34-31 win over the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football at Ford Field.
Detroit kicker Jake Bates drilled a game-winning 35-yard field goal as time expired to help the team extend its NFL-leading win streak.
Green Bay QB Jordan Love went 12-of-20 for 206 yards and a TD in the losing effort. Josh Jacobs rushed for 66 yards and three touchdowns as the Packers slipped to 9-and-4.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur spoke about the loss.
Jacobs said the the Packers will see the Lions again.
Safety Xavier McKinney agreed with Jacobs.
Jared Goff completed 32-of-41 passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. The Sonic and Knuckles duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery combined to rush for 94 yards and a score, while Tim Patrick finished with six catches for 43 yards and two TDs.
McKinney said that the Packers gotta get those stops when needed.
Defensive tackle Kenny Clark said it’s tough when the Lions keep going for fourth downs.
Clark said the team just needs to be better situationally.
The Lions are atop the division at 12-and-1.
