ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The village of Ashwaubenon will review a proposal to allow temporary video boards during the NFL Draft in April.
The village has denied requests for permanent video boards, but is now considering rules for temporary displays.
“With the upcoming NFL Draft, Village staff has been receiving requests for temporary video boards. Historically, temporary video boards have been used within the Sports & Entertainment District by various establishments for viewing of Packers games and within Ashwaubenon Parks and Titletown for movie nights. The proposed ordinance will provide a regulatory framework within which temporary video boards would be allowed within the Sports & Entertainment (SE), Public Use (P), and Titletown PUD zoning districts as these are the areas that have historically utilized temporary video boards. Having a regulatory framework in place will allow Village staff to enforce the standards should any issues arise,” the summary states.
The draft includes several provisions, including:
- A period of time to not exceed four hours within a 24-hour period.
- Temporary video boards are only permitted within the P-Public Use, SE-Sports & Entertainment, or Titletown Planned Unit Development zoning districts.
- Temporary video boards shall not be viewable from any street right-of-way.
- No temporary video board shall be allowed to operate between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The Public Works and Protection Committee meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Village Hall, 2155 Holmgren Way.
