APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Following the catastrophic events of Hurricane Helene/Milton this past month, Communities, businesses, and organizations across Wisconsin have come together to collect donations for those involved.
Appleton American Legion has offered to serve as a donation drop-off center for the Appleton community on the following days and times.
Tuesday, October 15th (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Wednesday, October 16th (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Thursday, October 17th (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Friday, October 18th (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
Saturday, October 19th (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
A list of items being collected include the following:
- Water – distilled and drinking water
- Non-perishable foods
- Baby wipes
- Diapers
- Towels (must be new)
- Blankets – adult and baby (must be new)
- Flashlights
- Feminine hygiene products
- Trash bags
- Paper products (plates, napkins, paper towels)
- Toilet paper
- Plastic eating utensils
- Hand sanitizer
- Work gloves
- Socks
- Bug spray
- Tarps
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Baby formula
- Microban
- Damp-Rid Bee/Hornet killer
- Gas cans
- 2 Stroke oil
- Bar/Chain oil
- Livestock/Horse feed
- Pet food
- Dog crates
- Fencing supplies
The donation collection drop-off center is in the parking lot of the Appleton American Legion Post 38 (3220 W. College Ave. – corner of College Ave. & Bluemound Rd.)
