GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Monday marks the first day of Green Bay Packers Training Camp and one player will be noticeably absent.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Packers quarterback Jordan Love will not participate in training camp until a contract extension is done.
Love’s agency informed the Packers on Saturday of the decision, but Gutekunst is optimistic a deal will get done in the coming days.

“Yea I think so but you never know we are working really hard to get it done and I think it is really important for us. At the same time the thing I have confidence is, we both want the same thing. We want Jordan here for a long time and to give that stability to him and gives us stability for our group as well,” Gutekunst added on the current negotiations.
Head coach Matt LaFleur asked when he realized he might have to adjust & adapt without having his starting quarterback on the practice field…
“When I was told yesterday,” LaFleur smirked.
LaFleur added that Love will still be present at practice & has been a participant in team meetings.
