GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay’s school board will meet tonight to talk about a 183 million-dollar tax increase that could be on the November ballot.
The plan is to use 33 million-dollars to beef-up school security. The other 150 million would be earmarked to help Green Bay Schools consolidate several different school buildings.
Green Bay is closing a handful of schools, and sending kids to new schools as part of their years-long strategy to deal with falling enrollment and fewer dollars.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at MacArthur Elementary. The Board of Education will vote on July 22 to decide what exactly will be included in the referendum.
