Waterboard Warriors practice on the Fox River in Wrightstown, June 7, 2024. PC: Fox 11 Online
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — For those planning to be out on the Fox River in Green Bay on the Fourth of July, there are a few orders boaters should keep in mind.
Due to the fireworks display, Green Bay police are enforcing a no docking, mooring or operation of watercraft between the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge (Dousman Street/Main Street) to the train trestle north of Leicht Park and into the East River east to the bridge on N Monroe Avenue. This enforcement will take place from 6 p.m. until the end of the fireworks. There will be temporary no docking signage posted in this area.
Also, as permitted by the city of Green Bay, the Waterboard Warriors will perform their ski show in front of the City Deck from 4-5 p.m. This means a safety zone between the Bart Starr Memorial Bridge (Walnut Street) and Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge will be established for the performers. Therefore, police will temporarily be holding back boat traffic from passing through except for a brief intermission halfway through the show.
Police advise boaters to plan their navigation on the water around these orders and patience is appreciated.
