(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 Saturday at American Family Field in Milwaukee with 1 swing of the bat.
Joey Ortiz belted his home run in the fifth inning with Bryce Turang and Jackson Chourio on base to put the Brewers up 3-0.
Cincinnati scored a run in the ninth off of reliever Trevor McGill but that’s as much offense as they could generate.
Jared Koenig was the designated starter for the Brewers, pitching 2/3 of an inning before turning things over to Bryse Wilson who went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.
Bryan Hudson pitched the 2 innings before turning things over to McGill.
Andrew Abbott started and took the loss for Cincinnati.
The teams conclude their weekend series today with the first pitch scheduled for 1:10 at American Family Field. The game can be heard on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
