(WNFL) – The Kimberly Papermakers girls soccer team advanced to Saturday’s WIAA Division 1 championship match at Uhlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee with a 1-0 win over top-seeded Waunakee on Friday.
Senah Hanes scored in the 11th minute off an assist from Emily McCarthy for the only goal of the game.
Waunakee put pressure on the Papermakers outshooting them 15-4 with Kimberly goalie Lauren Heckert recording 8 saves.
Kimberly (22-2-1) will face 16-1-4 Muskego for the Division 1 title at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Waunakee ends its season with a record of 16-2-3.
