OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The victim in a “substantial battery incident” outside the Wisconsin Resource Center in Oshkosh has died from his injuries.
Police say a first-degree intentional homicide charge is being referred to against a 41-year-old suspect.
Officers were called to the treatment center for state prison residents on North Drive on May 21 for a report of a battery incident in the facility’s courtyard.
The 56-year-old victim was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries sustained from the incident.
Neither one of the individuals involved was an employee of the WRC, officials said.
