ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Part of a Northeast Wisconsin Army Reserve unit is headed overseas.
The Army says the Ashwaubenon-based 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion is deploying a company-sized element to eastern Europe. The soldiers will be supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve.
According to the Army, Operation Atlantic Resolve is meant to demonstrate support to NATO allies. The 432nd’s mission will be to support the 1st Cavalry Division.
The battalion has been training for the deployment since spring 2019. The unit is expected to depart sometime this summer.
Army officials did not specify how many soldiers from the 432nd were going; they only characterized the number as “more than 40.”
The 432nd’s most recent deployment was to eastern Europe in 2017.
