FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Marian University says it will use federal money to buy scientific equipment.
The college says it is getting $1.049 million. The money was approved in spending bills Congress passed last month. Marian says the money was requested by Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisconsin.
“We are grateful to Senator Baldwin for securing these funds for Marian University,” Marian president Michelle Majewski said in a news release. “By investing in the latest scientific equipment, Marian will return these funds to the community in the form of newly-educated Nurses, Radiologic Technicians, Forensic Scientists and other STEM professionals that are in high-demand here in Wisconsin.”
The U.S. Department of Education is overseeing the allocation.
