APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The man who was shot by a police officer in Kaukauna should be charged criminally, investigators recommend.
Appleton police, who are investigating the case, have recommended the 28-year-old Fox Valley man be charged with recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and fleeing/eluding an officer.
The suspect has not yet been charged by the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office.
Kaukauna police Sgt. Michael Frank shot the man Sept. 13 in the 500 block of Diedrich Street. Prosecutors ruled Frank justified in the shooting, saying he feared for his safety and the safety of other officers when the suspect’s vehicle came speeding out of a garage.
Two girls who were in the vehicle were not injured.
