APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Outagamie County has gotten its first look inside a new event space at Plamann Park.
Outagamie County held a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Hillside at Plamann Park on Monday.
“Words can’t describe how thrilled we are to see a building like this in our parks system,” said Outagamie County Parks Director Loren Dieck.
The public will be able to reserve the space for events like weddings, anniversaries, and other celebrations year-round.
Construction on the pavilion began in June 2022 and wrapped up earlier this month.
The county says the project cost roughly $5 million.
“This is something that is going to be important for the park,” said Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson. “And not just for people coming to the park or use this facility, but to reflect well on Outagamie County, the Fox Valley overall.”
Plamann Park is already a popular spot in Outagamie County — with activities, like disc golf and Plamann Lake.
The county expects the pavilion to be just another reason for people to fully enjoy the park.
“It’s important that we put our best foot forward,” added Nelson. “That we do the best we can to make this a priority to have an asset that’s presentable to the community that everyone can take advantage of.”
The county will begin taking reservations beginning on Oct. 24th.
People can do so by calling (920) 850-0463 or by stopping at the Outagamie County Parks Department.
