GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Property taxes in Green Bay are going up as part of the local school district’s new budget.
Green Bay’s school board will meet tonight and approve its new 336 million-dollar budget. The spending plan includes a small property tax increase.
School leaders say they expect to approve the budget without much disagreement.
It’s not clear yet, however, how Green Bay Schools plan to deal with enrollment declines and growing teacher salaries with the new budget. A plan to close some schools in Green Bay remains unsettled.
Tank Elementary and Helen Keller Elementary are two buildings that are on the chopping block.
The meeting is scheduled to begin this evening at 6 p.m.
