MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The operator of a Two Rivers haunted house was arrested on allegations of child sexual assault and child enticement.
John Schwarz appeared in court Friday, where a $50,000 cash bond was set. An initial court appearance is set for Monday. Formal charges have not been filed.
In court Friday, Assistant District Attorney Angelina Scarpelli said Schwarz was the operator of the SCARE USA haunted house.
During the investigation, it was determined Schwarz had sexual contact with a number of juveniles who volunteered and worked at the haunted house. Scarpelli said Schwarz would tell the victims no one would believe them if they reported the sexual contact.
Court commissioner Luke LeFevre called it “quite shocking predator behavior,” while setting the cash bond.
Schwartz was ordered to have no contact with any minors, if he posts the bond.
The haunted house’s website says it strives “to create original sets, costumes, properties and overall a thrilling experience to thousands of customers each year.”
